Timed intercourse
Timed intercourse monitors ovulation and guides the best window for intercourse. It is the first approach for couples without complex obstacles — a simple, low-cost first step.
As the simplest and lowest-cost approach, timed intercourse is usually indicated for a few cycles. If pregnancy does not occur, the case is reassessed to objectively define the next step.
When it is indicated

- Young couples who have been trying for a short time

Frequently asked questions about timed intercourse
Who is timed intercourse not indicated for?
It is not indicated when there are blocked tubes, severe endometriosis or a significant change in semen analysis — situations that call for more complex treatments.
How many cycles are usually done?
Usually three to six cycles. Without a result in that range, the approach is to reassess and consider insemination or IVF.
The laboratory phase — gamete handling, fertilization, culture and cryopreservation — is carried out by a partner laboratory, contracted separately, in accordance with the rules of the Brazilian Federal Council of Medicine.
